I readily admit to being somewhat of a hermit, especially during the summer months. I am content to work in my studio, putter around in the gardens, sit on the deck and watch Nature's big show and enjoy the unstructured time at home. This illustration was made with that theme in mind.
I love this. I love watching the bird's in our backyard -- I confess I do this mostly from the deck hot tub early in the mornings. However, this past month(July) I have been so busy running around to dance, singing, and acting classes that my art has taken short shrift. Art challenges? Forget it. No available energy to do it every day. My white cat Angelina has to work at getting me out into the yard to sit in a chair. I did, however (the 31st), run an altered book workshop yesterday at the dance studio where I dance, and that was cool seeing what the eight students came up with. And now I'm finishing a box construction for a show deadline tomorrow. I've been staring at it empty for two months! And just started it 2 days ago!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds an idyllic way to spend summer. The house is a wonderful gothic creation, perfect for the spring, (I definitely don't hold with the idea that gothic is always creepy,)
